So, how do they work?
We know doing laundry can be a bit of a chore; from finding a product that doesn’t smell overpoweringly synthetic to needing Olympian strength to lift bulky boxes of laundry powder to the machine, it’s no wonder our laundry baskets tend to overflow.
Until the laundry fairies make themselves known we’re pretty sure our laundry sheets are the next best thing. They couldn’t be easier to use; all you need to do is pop a sheet (or 2 if you’re doing a bigger load) into the drum of your machine with your laundry and let them do their thing - it’s as easy as that!
No more breaking your back carrying washing detergents home from the shops, no plastics that can’t be recycled and no bulky boxes that take up lots of room - in fact, these sheets will almost make you want to do your laundry.
What are they made from?
Traditional laundry detergents are full of harsh chemicals that are bad news for both your skin and the planet, not to mention the massive carbon footprint from transporting these big boxes of detergents around the world.
We wanted to make a sustainable alternative that is kind to the planet and gentle on your skin which is why our laundry sheets contain mostly naturally derived ingredients. We take all the good bits from things like coconuts, cassava plants, clay and citrus fruits and harness their natural properties, keeping our laundry sheets free from nasties. Because of this keep an eye out for the expiry date, as like with anything natural, these can eventually go off. We do use a handful of that's not derived from plants, however we have made sure these are biodegradable and have the lowest EWG rating.
We work with some of the UK’s most credible chemists to create our products, with each ingredient thoroughly examined & tested to ensure it causes as little harm to the planet as possible. We review each ingredient through an independent body (EWG). We ensure all ingredients score as low as possible [lower the better]. For some reason beyond us, certain products like laundry powders and sheets aren’t required to disclose all the ingredients they use, so many products will hide the fact that they contain ingredients they would rather you didn’t know about. But we are being fully transparent here. We got absolutely nothing to hide.
We’re not big on fake scents either which is why we use natural flax to give our scented sheets that fresh, just in off the line smell.
How do they help the planet?
As well as using predominantly naturally derived ingredients our laundry sheets are vegan, biodegradable and come in 100% recycled packaging that can be fully recycled - not a hint of plastic in sight. Their earth-friendly superpowers don’t affect their cleaning ability either and while these sheets might be small they certainly know how to pack a punch and do the job well.
How do they help my wallet?
Buying traditional laundry detergents can be expensive, especially when you’re literally pouring money down the drain [did you know most laundry detergents end up down the drain before your machine even gets started?].
Or maybe you’re never quite sure how much to use so you end up pouring in waaay more detergent than you need to which means you’re constantly adding laundry detergent to your shopping list [and cleaning it up when it inevitably spills everywhere].
There’s none of that with our laundry sheets. With 64 sheets in a packet, this works out at a tiny cost of £0.10p or $0.20 [if buying in the USA] a load. And £0.20 or $0.40 per larger load. That’s cheaper than other leading eco laundry sheets and In some cases, even cheaper than some regular market-leading laundry powders.
